Are you sure the corresponding OpenSolaris release (downloadable from
genunix.org) won't work?

SXCE distribution was ended by Sun over a year ago (before the
acquistion completed) and the license terms did not allow for
others to mirror or redistribute due to the encumbered third
party code included in it.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I have no other CD or USB. EON is installed in a USB (8GB). Check the df output:

I'm new to Solaris, so I don understand what this mean or how to fix it.

If you try to download it from there you will find that those specific ISOs are not longer working.

http://www.sunfreepacks.com/license/?get&sol-nv-b130-x86-dvd.iso -> cdc.sunfreepacks.com and cdc.sunfreepacks.com is not even resolving

It used to work, I guess it's gone belly up. Maybe try sending the admin of the site an email notifying them the link no longer works.

What binaries/package are you looking add. You may be able to pull it from
osol-dev-130-x86.iso http://genunix.org/distributions/indiana/osol-dev-130-x86.iso
or
osol-dev-134-x86.iso http://genunix.org/distributions/indiana/osol-dev-134-x86.iso

Most of the libraries are dynamically linked so depending on what you are trying to do it should be ok.

Hi,

Just my 2 cents:
I've experienced about the same.
What happened to me is that it downloaded allright, but the image did not work. Always wrong size & bad checksum.

I finally managed to download it from this link allright, but with the help of a downloadmanager. (jdownloader) I'm not particularly fond of jdownloader as it was / is not evident to get it to work due to a lot of ip checking systems which a lot of us don't need at all, but once it works, it does a fine job on file checking..

I have SXCE130,
downloaded it before it was made unavailable (with redistribution
prohibition), to have it just in case.

I was thinking of deleting it locally, but could make it available from
my (slow) link to you.
It is x86 and sparc dvd part a and part b archives.
Feel free to contact me on this.

As Alan said now, redistribution is prohibited.
I was on the verge of deleting it from my disk, anyway, since I don not
see what is the use of it,
(despite only trouble with usage rights)
now when Illumos/OpenIndiana is here with soon to make stable release
and Solaris11Express gives ability to buy support contract.

I mostly lack technical ability to distribute anything, too, so I think
I will not.

No. Sun ended distribution of that last year, as originally announced, and
the license terms did not allow mirroring or free redistribution, since SXCE
contained third-party content under restrictive commercial licenses.

(There may be pirated copies floating around the net, but if someone was to post
about them on a mailing list/web forum like this that is operated by Oracle,
that would bring them to the attention of Oracle employees who would be
obligated to report to Oracle legal for the sending of cease-and-desist
notices.)
