can you clarify how to use updimg.sh when it comes to specifying directories

say I want to backup /usr/mysql/*

I can add that to the .backup file. Do i leave it in there? I read a while ago that you need only to specify it once and then you need only to worry about changes, is this true?

I would probably add that entry once (as I probably don't need to update all the binaries every time) and for future updates leave only entries that may change like a conf file etc.
