Is this still supported? It looks like the napp-it webserver interface might be good for what I am setting up. Which version to use? The developer says that the .4 version may work. (http://www.napp-it.org/downloads/eon_en.html) Have you tried the latest version. Also, for the .3 version he says to use the apache web server.

Any information on either of these is appreciated.

I haven't tried the latest version. You can try the new version with the steps from the post and see how it goes.

Do I need to download and install Apache for this to work? Where is the best version of Apache to use with EON?

Yes, you would need apache or a web server.

You could use a EON version with a http server included. The versions with min in the image name have no web server "eg: eon-0.600-130-64-cifs-min.iso"

or you could use the min image with
nginx http://eonstorage.blogspot.com/2010/01/eon-zfs-storage-min-and-nginx-web.html
or
lighttpd http://eonstorage.blogspot.com/2010/01/eon-zfs-storage-min-and-on-storage.html

So, nginx and lighttpd are webservers, but I need a version without these and then I install apache instead? Or do you think Napp-it will work with one of these two servers?

The 64 bit CIFS version. I'll have to check when I get home. I don't know if I downloaded the .60 version or the .595 version. Which version should I use?

There are 2 cifs version one with apache and the other without.

Example, note naming convention
eon-0.595-125-64-cifs.iso (EON ZFS Storage 0.595 based on snv 125 64-bit CIFS ISO)
eon-0.595-125-64-cifs-min.iso (Same as above minus apache2 web server. aka Pure Store)

I would use the latest which is the 0.6.

Hey,

did someone of you NAS-Pros get the new napp-it version running with the provided perl script?

In my installation it does not go further than:

--2011-05-16 08:41:59-- http://www.napp-it.org/newest
Resolving www.napp-it.org (www.napp-it.org)... 80.67.28.3
Connecting to www.napp-it.org (www.napp-it.org)|80.67.28.3|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 15334 (15K) [text/plain]
Saving to: `STDOUT'
100%[======================================>] 15,334 --.-K/s in 0.04s
2011-05-16 08:41:59 (402 KB/s) - written to stdout [15334/15334]

Or, do i have to follow the Install-Guide from the 0.59 version with napp-it 0.2-sth.? Any tips are appreciated ;O)

Pat
