I'm running EON snv_130 on a SuperMicro X7SPA-HF motherboard and am having problems getting the machine to power all the way off when issuing a shutdown command.
I found this entry (https://sites.google.com/site/eonstorage/faq#TOC-Why-doesn-t-my-machine-poweroff-aft) in the FAQ and tried all three versions of the Grub parameters, but still had the issue.
My next thought was to see if there was a BIOS setting that might help. I took shots of all the available BIOS screens. The relevant one is: http://photos.alanwsmith.com/p142564364#h3422e423 (The rest are there too if they would help)
I don't know enough about ACPI to know if any of the settings could be causing the issue. Figured I'd ask here.
I've tried a few things, but haven't had a chance to do much experimentation with the BIOS settings yet. If the issue is BIOS related, I'm hoping someone here can point in the right direction so I'm not flying blind.
The three questions I have are:
1. Is there anything else I can try with grub?
2. Are there any BIOS settings (either on the ACPI or some other page) that I should try at specific settings?
3. If I change a BIOS setting, do I need to reinstall the system to make sure they changes take effect? (Some of the reading I've done suggests that's the case, but it was unclear.)
NOTE: This is an annoyance instead of a problem. It's easy enough to physically power off the hardware after issuing a shutdown, but it would be nice not to have to.
Thanks,
-Alan
