ESB2 Intel Driver - Supermicro Motherboard

Hi All,

I'm trying to use EON in a supermicro motherboard, http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/xeon1333/5000V/X7DVL-E.cfm.

When I enable the enhanced mode in the BIOS to allow the usage of the 6 sata ports EON does not recognize the disks.

I've tryed to add the SUNWahci driver from SXCE SNV_b130 x86, but does not have worked.

Anyone knows the right driver for this SATA controller? It's possible to use all the 6 SATA ports?

Hi cmaquino,

As far as I know the AHCI driver should work for the ESB2 chipset but I'm not sure and don't have access to the hardware so I cannot confirm.

You can try booting from the openindiana live cd to see which drivers it uses or if the disks show up there. Then you could identify if a driver is missing or needs updating etc.
